Gabe Killian’s Plays for World Series of Fighting 12

HemplemanWorld Series of Fighting 12 Date: August 9, 2014 Arena: The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino City: Las Vegas, NV World Series of Fighting 12 will be live on the NBC Sports Network tomorrow (Saturday) night at 10pm ET with a five-fight main card. If interested in wagering on this card, these lines will be made available to you at Several Bookmakerss. These are the two plays I like for this card… Lightweight bout: bout: Lewis Gonzalez (-160) vs Luis Palomino (+120) Gabe’s Thoughts: Both of these 155-pounders are very tough and hard to put away, so I see this one playing out for all three rounds of action more often than not. I lean with Gonzalez picking up the nod on the judges’ scorecards, but I don’t see value in it at -160 and feel the over 2.5 with a little more juice at -185 is a safer play. I think Gonzalez should be -140 and the over 2.5 should be -280, so I definitely think the value here is with the totals. Gabe’s Call: Gonzalez by Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Over 2.5 rounds (-185) 3.7u to win 2u Bantamweight bout: Alexis Vila (-145) vs Brandon Hempleman (+105) Gabe’s Thoughts: Simply put, I think Hempleman is going to use his solid takedown defense to keep this fight on the feet, where he will use his far superior striking to outstrike Vila for all three rounds of action en route to a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards. Should the fight hit the mat, I believe Hempleman will be fine there, as he owns a black belt in Braizlian Jiu Jitsu and is capable of holding his own on the canvas. He was outmatched and dominated in his promotional debut against Marlon Moraes, but I think he will shine tomorrow night and get to show off a few tricks of his own. Hempleman is very tough and outside of Vila catching him with a submission, I don’t see him losing. I don’t think Vila will be able to grind him out for a decision victory; though, I could see a complete robbery happening on the judges’ scorecards, but that rings true for every fight. Gabe’s Call: Hempleman by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Hempleman (+105) 5u to win 5.25u
