The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale Closing Odds & Results

Ortiz Moraga The Ultimate Fighter 19 Finale took place tonight (July 6, 2014) at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the event was a huge success as it featured a number of breakthrough performances by some up-and-coming prospects that everyone needs to keep an eye on. Overall, seven favorites cashed while four underdogs earned the upset. Here’s a betting recap for the TUF 19 Finale based on the closing results at Several Bookmakers. TUF 19 Betting Favorites Who Won In the main event of the evening, Frankie Edgar defeated BJ Penn via third-round TKO (elbows). Edgar took down Penn at will and in the third round started smashing him with elbows until the referee stepped in to mercifully stop the fight. Edgar cashed as a -370 favorite (bet $370 to win $100), while Penn was a +330 dog (bet $100 to win $330). In a light heavyweight bout, Corey Anderson defeated Matt Van Buren via first-round TKO (punches) to win the TUF 19 light heavyweight tournament. Anderson hit Van Buren with some lethal strikes before taking his opponent to the ground and hitting him until the referee stopped the fight. Anderson was -265 while Van Buren was +245. In a heavyweight bout, Derrick Lewis defeated Guto Inocente via first-round KO (punches). Lewis took down Inocente and knocked him out with brutal ground-and-pound for his second-straight win in the UFC. Lewis was -185, Inocente +170. In a lightweight bout, Kevin Lee defeated Jesse Ronson via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28). Lee was able to sneak in some takedowns and land some nice strikes to win a close decision on the judges’ cards. Lee was -230, Ronson +210. In a bantamweight bout, Leandro Issa defeated Jumabieke Tuerxun via third-round submission (armbar). Tuerxun was winning the fight but got caught in a nasty armbar late in the third and was forced to tap out. Issa was -125 while Tuerxun was +115. In a lightweight bout, Adriano Martins defeated Juan Manuel Puig via first-round KO (punch). Martins landed a beautiful counter right hand to knock Puig out in brutal fashion. Martins was -420 while Puig was +375. In a light heavyweight bout, Robert Drysdale defeated Keith Berish via first-round submission (injury). Drysdale jumped on Berish’s back and his opponent’s knee gave out as the rear-naked choke was being put in place and he tapped out due to injury. Drysdale was -750, Berish +600. TUF 19 Betting Underdogs Who Won In a middleweight bout, Eddie Gordon defeated Dhiego Lima via first-round TKO (punches) to win the TUF 19 middleweight tournament. Gordon stormed out of the gate early on and knocked out Lima cold in the first. Gordon was +140 while Lima was -150. In a flyweight bout, Dustin Ortiz defeated Justin Scoggins via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28). This was a “Fight of the Night” candidate between two high-level 125ers, but Ortiz’ top control got him the nod on the judges’ cards. Ortiz was +260 while Scoggins was -290. In a light heavyweight bout, Patrick Walsh defeated Dan Spohn via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28). Walsh took Spohn down at will and won a snoozer of a decision for the upset. Walsh was +210 while Spohn was -230. In a women’s catchweight bout, Sarah Moras defeated Alexis Dufresne via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27). Dufresne took down Moras in all three rounds but Moras did more work off her back with strikes and submission attempts and the judges gave her the W. Moras was +200, Dufresne -220.
