Gabe Killian’s Plays for Bellator 119

marius-zaromskisBellator 119 Date: May 9, 2014 Arena: Casino Rama City: Rama, Ontario, Canada Bellator 119 will be live on Spike TV this Friday night at 9pm ET with a four fight main card. If interested in wagering on this card, these lines will be made available to you at Several Bookmakerss. Here are my plays for the card… Lightweight bout: Daniel Weichel (+140) vs Desmond Green (-160) Gabe’s Prediction: I think more often than not, this fight is going to play out for all three rounds for a judges’ decision, which is why I favor a play on the over, rather than siding with either fighter. I do see a bit of value in Weichel at +140, but I am opting to just stick with the over in this spot, in case Green finds success with his takedowns and top control. I am expecting a close fight and lean with Weichel for getting the win, but as far as a bet goes, the Over will be my only play. It is worth noting that playing the Over instead of Weichel straight up could be costly, because I could see Weichel finishing Green. That is why I won’t be going crazy betting this fight, even though I think the Over 2.5 comes through about 80% of the time. Gabe’s Call: Weichel by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Over 2.5 rounds (-215) 2.15u to win 1u Welterweight bout: Marius Zaromskis (-290) vs Vaughn Anderson (+230) Gabe’s Prediction: Zaromskis is the superior striker in this match-up, and I expect that to be the difference come Friday night. I expect the Lithuanian to score a stoppage over Anderson, if not take home a unanimous nod from the judges. Gabe’s Call: Zaromskis by KO (kicks and punches, 3:33, round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Marius Zaromskis (-290) 1.4u to win .5u Lightweight bout: Eric Wisely (+135) vs John Alessio (-155) Gabe’s Prediction: This is a bout between two former UFC fighters who were released by the promotion, even though they both faced stiff competition. I don’t think this scrap is hard to predict. I believe Alessio is the more well-rounded mixed martial artist, and I think the majority of this fight will play out on the feet, where I believe he holds the advantage. In short, I feel his superior striking will be difference in this match-up, and ultimately be his key to victory. Gabe’s Call: Alessio by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27) Gabe’s Recommended Play: John Alessio (-155) 3.95u to win 2.55u
