Bellator 118’s Sam Oropeza: ‘Andrey Koreshkov still makes the same mistakes’

MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 118 welterweight Sam Oropeza as he prepares for his main card tournament semifinal bout on Friday night (May 2, 2014) against Andrey Koreshkov at the Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The gritty veteran will be fighting in his backyard against Koreshkov, and he feels that while his opponent is talented, he hasn’t done enough to fix his exploitable flaws:

“Honestly, I watch every fight that Andrey Koreshkov is in and he does not change at all. The funny thing is I watched Alexander Shlemenko, he fought Brandon Ward the week before I was supposed to fight Koreshkov originally and they showed him and Shlemenko in the locker room and he was holding pads for Shlemenko and he even holds pads the way he fights. I know what he wants to do. If you watched any of his fights then you know it. I really don’t think he’s gonna change anything up. I watched his first fight and his most recent fight and while he got better, he still makes the same mistakes that I’m looking to exploit.
