LFC 28’s Damon Jackson: ‘It’s just a matter of getting it to the ground’

MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with LFC 28 featherweight Damon Jackson as he prepares for his co-main event bout tonight (Feb. 21, 2014) against Hunter Tucker at the Cowboys Dancehall in San Antonio, Texas.

The unbeaten Octagon MMA fighter is bracing for a stern test from Tucker, but he feels it’ll only be a matter of time until he take the fight into his world:

“I think he’s gonna be real relaxed. I don’t think he’s gonna come out real aggressive to avoid the takedowns and stuff. That’s something I’m prepared for. It’s not like I’m not good on my feet. I just haven’t had a chance to use my stand-up to what I feel like my potential is. I’ve always had that early takedown and had that control on top to where I haven’t had to have those battles on the feet. I feel like he’s gonna try to keep it on the feet as long as he can and eventually it’ll get down to the ground one way or another. At that time, I have the control that I need to finish the fight. It’s just a matter of getting it to the ground.”
