UFC 169’s Tom Watson: ‘Nick Catone’s record is deceiving’

MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC 169 middleweight Tom Watson as he prepares for his preliminary card bout tonight (Feb. 1, 2014) against Nick Catone at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The former BAMMA 185-pound champion is taking on a solid wrestler in Catone tonight, but he’s done all the necessary homework to properly prepare for the preliminary card showdown

“It’s difficult to say what he brings that I haven’t seen. I think he’s a really good wrestler. If you look at his statistics in the UFC, he’s taken down everybody he’s fought. He’s outnumbered them on takedowns, he’s defended 80 percent of takedowns people have shot on him and he’s fought some tough guys. When I saw him fight Philippou, he won every round easily. He’s just a tough guy. He’s a black belt now under Renzo. He’s had a couple losses recently but I think if you had to take on a guy with a couple of losses in the UFC, I think he’s one of the toughest ones to do it.”
