Legacy FC 25 Opening Betting Odds

Carlos Diego Ferreira MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas today opened the complete betting lines for Legacy FC 25 at Several Bookmakers, and here they are below. ———————– LEGACY FC 25 November 15, 2013 – Arena Theater – Houston, TX ——————– MAIN CARD (AXS TV, 10 p.m.) Jorge Patino +225 Carlos Diego Ferreira -305 -Lightweight title Lester Batres +180 Frank Trevino -260 Jonathan Harris +225 Artenus Young -305 Jon Kirk +285 Larry Crowe -405 ——————– Adam’s thoughts: In the main event of the evening, former UFC fighter Jorge Patino takes on Carlos Diego Ferreira for the Legacy FC lightweight championship, which “Macaco” currently owns. This is actually a very good matchup between a veteran on a resurgence and an up-and-coming prospect in Ferreira, and I expect that the winner of this bout — particularly if it’s Ferreira — will get a shot in the UFC. Patino, who is both the Legacy FC lightweight and welterweight champion, may be 40 years old but he certainly hasn’t looked old in his last few fights, as he is currently riding a seven-fight win streak, with a win over Efrain Escudero via split decision in his last outing. Ferreira, on the other hand, is only 28 year old and he is undefeated at 8-0 in his career, including a win over prospect Chris Feist in his last fight. This is a good matchup but Ferreira deserves to be a -305 favorite, and I see him coming through with the win. And in a welterweight bout, Artenus Young takes on Jonathan Harris. Young was supposed to fight Matt Riddle but after Riddle’s contract with Legacy was bought out by Bellator, he never got that fight. Instead, he now gets a much more favorable matchup against Harris, who seems to lack in toughness from all accounts. Neither of these guys are great fighters, but realistically Young should roll in this spot and that’s why you see him open as a -305 favorite here. All in all, not a bad little Friday night of fights, and you can think about parlaying some of these fights with the Bellator 108 card.
