Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Vegas 119 Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Vegas 119 is a five-round flyweight rematch between Manel Kape and Kyoji Horiguchi. These two men met back in RIZIN in 2017, with Horiguchi submitting Kape. Now, nearly a decade later, they meet inside the UFC Octagon, with Kape as a sizeable favorite to open this fight. Kape has won three straight fights and seven of his last eight bouts heading into this main event, and will likely earn himself a flyweight title shot with a big win. As for Horiguchi, he has won five straight fights and is unbeaten in his last eight bouts overall. Both of these fighters are awesome, and this should be an amazing matchup, but given his recent knockout streak, Kape is the betting favorite heading into this matchup.
- In the co-main event, we have Navajo Stirling against Ion Cutelaba. Stirling has won all four of his UFC fights and is coming off a finish over Bruno Lopes in his last bout. As for Cutelaba, he has won three of his last four fights overall. This is the perfect step up in competition for Stirling at this point in his career, but either way, you still have to favor him to win here.
