MMA Odds and Ends for Tuesday: Guillard vs. Pearson Booked

Ross Pearson It was today confirmed by UFC Tonight that a lightweight matchup between explosive strikers Melvin Guillard and Ross Pearson has been added as the co-main event to the UFC’s upcoming card in Manchester, England, which takes place this October and which is headlined by Michael Bisping and Mark Munoz. The fight between Guillard and Pearson is exciting on paper and it’s likely going to be entertaining for the fans in England this fall as both fighters are known for their aggressive standup styles. As far as a betting line goes, to me the fight is close to a Pick ’em but perhaps with a slight lean to Pearson since he has honefield advantage in the match. Right now my lean is Guillard because I have been really impressed with him since he moved to Grudge, but Pearson and his camp in San Diego, CA, Alliance MMA, are on fire as of late and you have to give a boost to Pearson due to the fact his main training partners are Michael Chandler and Myles Jury, two studs, so I really think this is a fight you can’t really go crazy with either way as far as a bet goes. Daley Signs With BAMMA Welterweight slugger Paul Daley today signed a three-fight deal with BAMMA, according to MMAFighting.com. There was some hope that Daley would return to the UFC after Bellator released him, but UFC president Dana White still hasn’t forgiven him for punching Josh Koscheck after the bell at UFC 113. No idea who Daley will fight in BAMMA, but the competition will likely be weak so you can expect a few more KOs from “Semtex” over the next year in BAMMA.
