Robert Whittaker (c) vs Kelvin Gastelum

This is a pretty great fight for the middleweight championship this weekend in Australia. While I outright favor Whittaker to successfully defend his title, it’ll probably be a bit of a back-n-forth fight with Gastelum having his own little moments too. Gastelum has good hands and speed behind them, but overall, I believe Whittaker is still the better fighter and should win a decision here. I don’t expect a knockout or especially a submission, just a standup contest with Whittaker getting the better of Gastelum in majority of the exchanges.

Prop: Robert Whittaker by decision (+190)

Israel Adesanya vs Anderson Silva

This is such a great fight; however, I do wish Anderson Silva was 10 years younger so we could watch the prime version of him fight ‘The Last Stylebender’. I see a lot of people picking and betting on Adesanya to finish The Spider and while that is a possibility due to Anderson’s age, lack of quick reflexes, and declining durability I’m not entirely sure it will happen. This could turn out to just be a chess match between two pinpoint accurate strikers with both not wanting to take many risks. Silva has been known to play it very safe and not engage much in past fights. Silva might not put himself in the position to be finished by strikes and just move around doing nothing – which will end up costing him a potential 30-27 decision loss. Much like it has been advertised Adesanya is the younger, quicker, more durable version of his opponent and I expect him to outright win. A finish by TKO is not out of the realm but I am picking him to win a stylish decision showing off more of what he does best.

Prop: Israel Adesanya by decision (+180)
