MMAOddsBreaker Rankings Update: Post-UFC 222 and Bellator 195

With UFC 222 and Bellator 195 taking place last weekend, the MMAOddsBreaker rankings were bound to get shaken up. MMAOddsBreaker’s Brian Hemminger (@BrianHemminger) has taken over the reigns of the rankings, which are updated after nearly every UFC event.

As always, we only show changes in the rankings with this update. To access the full MMAOddsBreaker rankings, click here. Disagree? Feel free to give us your take on our rankings either in the comment section here or on Twitter!

Heavyweight

1. Stipe Miocic
2. Francis Ngannou
3. Cain Velasquez
4. Fabricio Werdum
5. Alistair Overeem
6. Curtis Blaydes
7. Mark Hunt
8. Derrick Lewis
9. Alexander Volkov
10. Junior dos Santos
11. Ben Rothwell
12. Marcin Tybura
13. Andrei Arlovski (NR)
14. Vitaly Minakov
15. Stefan Struve (-2)

The Pitbull is back! Andrei Arlovski had been written off by many following four consecutive losses in the UFC heavyweight division, but he’s bounced back with a pair of victories over Junior Albini and Stefan Struve to return to the heavyweight top 15 rankings. There’s no telling how long he can stay there given his age and durability issues, but for now, Arlovski is ranked once more.

Featherweight

1. Max Holloway
2. Brian Ortega (+2)
3. Jose Aldo
4. Frankie Edgar (-2)
5. Jeremy Stephens
6. Chad Mendes
7. Cub Swanson
8. Darren Elkins
9. Ricardo Lamas
10. Chan Sung Jung
11. Josh Emmett
12. Myles Jury
13. Mirsad Bektic
14. Yair Rodriguez
15. Patricio Pitbull

With his emphatic knockout victory, Brian Ortega takes Frankie Edgar’s spot as the top contender in the UFC featherweight division. It was the first time Edgar had ever been finished in a fight and Ortega seems to be improving by the day. It hurts to see Edgar lose out on another shot at championship gold, but Ortega is clearly the more deserving fighter at this point.

Bantamweight

1. TJ Dillashaw
2. Cody Garbrandt
3. Dominick Cruz
4. Jimmie Rivera
5. Rafael Assuncao
6. Marlon Moraes
7. John Lineker (+1)
8. John Dodson (+2)
9. Aljamain Sterling
10. Cody Stamann (NR)
11. Bryan Caraway (-4)
12. Bibiano Fernandes
13. Pedro Munhoz (-2)
14. Rob Font
15. Darrion Caldwell (NR)

There was a ton of movement in the bantamweight division last weekend. Cody Stamann stepped up and earned a decision against Bryan Caraway on the UFC 222 preliminary card to leap into the middle of the top 15 rankings. John Dodson also earned a close split decision over Pedro Munhoz to bump up a couple spots and Bellator bantamweight champion Darrion Caldwell made quick work of his challenger Leandro Higo in the Bellator 195 main event to return to the rankings.

Women’s Bantamweight

1. Amanda Nunes
2. Ketlen Vieira (+4)
3. Raquel Pennington (-1)
4. Germaine de Randamie (-1)
5. Holly Holm (-1)
6. Ronda Rousey (-1)
7. Julianna Pena
8. Marion Reneau
9. Cat Zingano
10. Sara McMann
11. Sarah Kaufman
12. Aspen Ladd
13. Tonya Evinger
14. Leslie Smith
15. Bethe Correia

With Ketlen Viera’s dominant showcase against Cat Zingano, she’s clearly the top contender in the UFC women’s bantamweight division. While Raquel Pennington is getting the next shot and the UFC is campaigning for a Nunes Cyborg superfight, it may be a while until Viera actually gets her shot at the belt.
