Five UFC 162 Crazy Prop Bets That Cashed Big

Cub Swanson On every UFC card there’s always tons of value in the prop bets, and although they are very difficult to hit, if you do indeed hit one (or more) of them then there’s no doubt your night will be quite profitable. Here’s a list of five crazy UFC 162 prop bets that cashed big, based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers. Chris Weidman wins by T/KO (+800) UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva was defeated by knockout for the first time in his career in the main event of UFC 162, and it came at the hands of a very unlikely man as Chris Weidman of all people was able to stop the previously iron-chinned Silva with a beautiful 1-2-2-3 combination in the second round while Silva did his best whacky inflatable tube man impression. This was a shocking outcome as Silva had fought the likes of Vitor Belfort, Dan Henderson and Rich Franklin — all very powerful punchers — over the years and had never been finished. The prop for Weidman to win by T/KO cashed out at +800, and if you did make a bet for this let me know, because I honestly don’t think anyone anywhere in the world was picking Weidman by knockout. Chris Weidman Wins in Round 2 (+950) The knockout from Weidman occurred in the second round, and the prop for Weidman to win in the second paid out at a very nice +950. To me this was actually a solid prop for the Weidman backers because if Weidman was going to get a finish he was going to do so in the first two rounds before he gassed out. So if you hit this one, congrats. Chris Weidman wins “Knockout of the Night” (+850) In addition to Weidman winning the UFC middleweight championship, the New York native was also awarded a $50,000 bonus by the UFC for winning the event’s “Knockout of the Night” award. If you bet on Weidman to win the KOTN award, congrats, because your prop bet cashed out at a strong +850, which is obviously a nice hit. Although, to be honest, I think this bonus could have paid out even more. I mean, who really saw that coming? Cub Swanson wins in round 3 (+1150) Featherweights Cub Swanson and Dennis Siver were extremely competitive for the better part of two and a half rounds but Swanson finally took over in the third for good and finished off Siver with strikes with just a few minutes left in the fight. The prop for Swanson to win in round 3 paid out at a ridiculous +1150, a great hit for anyone who expected him to end this fight in the third — probably those who figured Siver would gas out. Brian Melancon wins by T/KO (+1055) In the second Facebook fight of UFC 162, Brian Melancon knocked out Seth Baczynski with some brutal ground and pound to pick up a KO victory in his official UFC debut. Along with Melancon earning the stunning knockout victory, bettors who picked it to happen also earned some big-time cash as the prop for Melancon by T/KO paid out at a juicy +1055.
