UFC Fight Night 121 Bonuses went to…

Damien Brown earns Performance of the Night (formerly, Fight of the Night) for his slugfest with Frank Camacho

Damien Brown and Frank Camacho squared off in a catchweight bout at 160 pounds. After a fairly competitive first round that included some grappling, the two fighters decided to engage in a striking fest for the final 10 minutes. Both fighters stood in the pocket and exchanged shot for shot. It was the most entertaining bout of the night and ended up going to a split decision awarded to Camacho. For Brown’s effort, he was awarded $50,000. Unfortunately for Camacho, he was missed weight and was ineligible for a bonus.

Tai Tuivasa earns Performance of the Night (formerly, Knockout of the Night)

In his UFC debut, the intriguing heavyweight prospect did not disappoint as he landed a flying knee that floored Rashad Coulter and gave him a first round knockout win. The Mark Hunt training partner is just 23 years of age, so he has a lot of time to round out his game and become a potential contender in this division.

Nik Lentz earns Performance of the Night (formerly, Submission of the Night)

As a +345 underdog, the former American Top Team trained fighter was in a difficult matchup against Will Brooks. The former Bellator lightweight champion, Brooks, had sparred and trained with Lentz many times, so this bout was an intriguing contest. Through round one, Brooks had gotten the better of Lentz with a wrestling heavy approach and a solid jab. However, things turned in a flash in round two as Lentz was able to secure an arm in guillotine and force Brooks to tap to earn the win and a bonus. The longtime UFC fighter has fought in the promotion dating back to 2009 and will have his 20th bout inside the promotion in his next outing. Lentz continues to go under the radar as a wily veteran who can give quality fighters a tough fight.
