Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series 8 Opening Betting Odds

Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series 8 emanates from The Ultimate Fighter Gym this Tuesday (August 29, 2017) at 8 p.m. (ET) live on UFC Fight Pass. The main event features a pair of undefeated lightweights as Matt Frevola battles Jose Flores.

Frevola (5-0) has won three of his five career fights by stoppage, including two victories by submission.”Steamrolla” is coming off a unanimous-decision victory over Rausha Manfio at Titan FC 43 in January. Flores (7-0) heads into this matchup off a third-round TKO victory over Sonny Luque at STFC 41 in February. The 29-year-old has finished six of his seven career opponents.

In the co-main event, TUF 23 competitor Elias Urbina returns to the cage for the first time since February 2016 when he takes on undefeated Bevon Lewis. Urbina (3-0) defeated Norman Paraisy on the show, but he ended up losing to Eric Spicely by unanimous decision later in the tournament. The 23-year-old will be competing in the middleweight division for the first time since June 2015. Lewis (3-0) is coming off a unanimous-decision win over Sonny Yohn at LFA 10 in April, which kept his unblemished record intact.

Two solid heavyweight prospects will also square off as Dontale Mayes faces Allen Crowder. Mayes (3-1) heads into this matchup off a unanimous-decision victory over Demoreo Dennis at LFA 9 in April. The lone blemish on Mayes’ resume was a DQ loss to Kenny Fredenburg at RFA 46. Crowder (8-2) heads into this matchup on a four-fight unbeaten streak, including three straight wins by knockout. Interestingly enough, one of the 29-year-old’s two professional losses is to Mayes’ teammate and UFC heavyweight Curtis Blaydes.

Casey Kenney gets a second chance at a UFC contract as well when he battles Adam Antolin in a flyweight affair. Kenney (7-0-1) defeated Cee Jay Hamilton by unanimous decision at Dana White’s Contender Series 2 in July, however, the victory wasn’t enough to land him in the UFC. Antolin (12-3) trains at American Kickboxing Academy and heads into this contest on a eight-fight win streak. The 35-year-old holds a win over newly signed UFC flyweight Alex Perez, who won during Episode 5.

Rounding out the card is Kelly McGill, who now faces late replacement Lauren Mueller. McGill (2-1) was slated to face Janay Harding, but she was removed from the event due to undisclosed reasons. “Killer” heads into this matchup off a TKO loss to UFC bantamweight Aspen Ladd at Invicta FC 16 in March 2016. Mueller (3-0) made her pro debut in July 2015 and has racked off three straight victories for the Gladiator Challenge promotion.
