Five Props that Cashed Big at UFC 212

Five Props is a column featured on MMAOddsBreaker.com after every major MMA event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card. Here are five UFC 212 prop bets that cashed big based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers.

1) Brian Kelleher by Submission (+1160)

Kelleher scored a first-round guillotine-choke submission over veteran Iuri Alcantara in his picture perfect promotional debut, and he used his post-fight speech to call out a Rop 10 ranked opponent. The Long Island-based fighter hopes to get on July’s UFC on FOX card in his hometown, and fight fans look forward to seeing that happen. If you were wise enough to back Kelleher to win this fight by submission, then congratulations to you, as you made out with a whopping +1160!

2) Vitor Belfort by Decision (+1015)

Belfort defeated Nate Marquardt via unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards following three rounds of action. Congratulations are due to those who wagered on Belfort to win this fight by decision, especially if you tailed me, as it was one of the prop plays I recommended in my article. The play cashed out at +1015, and I had recommended it at +1060.

3) Claudia Gadelha by Submission (+781)

Gadelha made quick work of recent UFC women’s strawweight title challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz, taking her down and defeating her via rear-naked choke in the very first round of action, making it two straight wins for herself inside the Octagon. It was a phenomenal performance by the Brazilian, who is inching her way closer to a third fight with the current champ. Congratulations to those who wagered on Gadelha to wrap this one up by submission, as you made out with an impressive +781!

4) Matthew Lopez by T/KO (+700)

Lopez defeated Johnny Eduardo via first-round TKO to make it two straight wins for himself inside the Octagon. He scored a takedown on the Brazilian but had to fight off a kneebar attempt and rain down some heavy leather from ground-and-pound to force a late stoppage by the referee. He was limping following the bout, which means the submission was deep, and he showed great heart by not tapping to it. Congrats are due to those who backed Lopez to win this fight by T/KO, as the prop paid out at a very sweet +700.

5) Max Holloway by T/KO (+580)

Holloway dethroned the featherweight king Jose Aldo by scoring a third-round TKO with less than a minute remaining in the stanza. Aldo took the first two rounds, but Holloway started coming alive towards the end of the second. He completely took over in the third, knocking the Brazilian down and then following him to the mat to secure an eventual TKO stoppage after some brutal ground-and-pound. It was a big win for the Hawaiian, and kudos are due to those who took him to win by T/KO, as the prop paid out at a solid +580.

A $100 parlay on these five props would have netted $6,733,079.
