Two-Way Parlay for Bellator 179

Bellator 179

Date: May 19, 2017
Arena: The SSE Arena
City: London, England

Bellator returns to London, England this Friday (May 19, 2017) with Bellator 179: Daley vs. MacDonald. Main card action will air on Spike TV with a tape delay at 9 p.m. ET. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines are available at Several Bookmakers.

Here is my parlay:

Welterweight bout: Rory MacDonald (-335) vs. Paul Daley (+275)

Gabe’s Thoughts: I think MacDonald defeats Daley as long as he does not get knocked out flush, and he has a good chin, so I think the chances of that happening are quite slim. I think MacDonald will outpoint “Semtex” on the feet here for the majority of three rounds to pick up a unanimous-decision victory on the judges’ scorecards. That said, I would not be surprised to see him put Daley away with a ground-and-pound TKO stoppage, as I think that is also a possible outcome to this welterweight matchup.

Gabe’s Call: MacDonald by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Light Heavyweight bout: Liam McGeary (-185) vs Linton Vassell (+160)

Gabe’s Thoughts: I believe McGeary is the superior striker and submission artist heading into this matchup against Vassel, though he will be at a wrestling disadvantage. I think he has a decent chance of stopping Vassel with strikes on the feet or catching him in a submission on the mat. I think McGeary is also the more likely fighter to win a judges’ decision in this light heavyweight matchup because he will out-point Vassel on the feet, and if he finds himself on his back, he will likely be giving Vassel some trouble there, forcing him to defend submission after submission.

Gabe’s Call: McGeary by Submission (triangle choke, 4:01 round 1)

Gabe’s Recommended Parlay: MacDonald (-335) and McGeary (-185) at +100
