Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Belgrade Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Belgrade features Uros Medic against Daniel Rodriguez in a five-round welterweight bout that won’t need the full 25 minutes to decide a winner. Medic has won his last three fights in a row by first-round knockout, while Rodriguez has won three straight fights in his own right. But with Medic being the younger fighter and competing at home in Serbia, he deserves to be the favorite to win this fight, and there’s a good chance that he wins by brutal knockout.
- In the co-main event, we have Navajo Stirling getting a major step up in competition when he takes on former UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz. Stirling has won all five of his UFC fights and is coming off two straight knockout wins. As for Blachowicz, he has not won a fight since 2022 and is 0-2-2 over his last four fights. Although Blachowicz has far more experience in the UFC and has been fighting elite competition, it’s difficult to trust him here at age 43 to beat someone as young and as talented as Stirling, even if Stirling took this fight on short notice for Bogdan Guskov.
