Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Macau Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Macau is a five-round bantamweight bout between Song Yadong and Deiveson Figueiredo. Yadong is coming off a competitive loss to Sean O’Malley, but he remains one of the top fighters in the UFC bantamweight division. As for Figueiredo, he has lost four of his last five fights, including a decision defeat to Umar Nurmagomedov his last time out. It’s very difficult to back the older Figueiredo in this bout, so it’s no surprise to see Yadong as a big favorite here.
- In the co-main event, we have light heavyweights Zhang Mingyang and Alonzo Menifield going at it. Mingyang is coming off an upset KO loss to Johnny Walker, but he had won three straight UFC fights before that. As for Menifield, he is coming off a KO loss to Volkan Oezdemir. While you can’t completely count out Menifield, Zhang is the rightful favorite to win this fight.
- Also on the card is a heavyweight bout between Sergei Pavlovich and Tallison Teixeira. Pavlovich is coming off back-to-back wins over Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Jairzinho Rozenstruik, while Teixeira beat Tai Tuivasa in his last outing. Pavlovich is the favorite to win, which makes sense considering he is one of the top heavyweights in the sport today.
