Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Seattle Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Seattle is a middleweight bout between former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and Joe Pyfer. Adesanya is one of the best to ever do it, but at age 36, after losing three straight fights and four of his last five, it’s fair to say his best days are behind him. To make matters worse for Adesanya, he has been getting finished as of late, which is not a positive career trend. On the flip side, we have Pyfer, who has won six of his seven UFC fights, including five by stoppage. Since his only loss in the UFC, to Jack Hermansson in 2024, Pyfer has reeled off three straight wins. Pyfer has looked excellent in the UFC, but this is a big step up from the likes of Abus Magomedov and Kelvin Gastelum.
- In the co-main event, we have a rematch between Alexa Grasso and Maycee Barber. These two first met at UFC 258 five years ago, with Grasso winning a decision. This time, we have Grasso on a three-fight winless skid and Barber on a seven-fight win streak. This should be a competitive fight, and the odds are close.
