Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Mexico Opening Odds:
- In the main event of UFC Mexico, we have former UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno fighting in his home country against Lone’er Kavanagh, who took this fight on short notice after Asu Almabayev pulled out. Moreno and Kavanagh are both coming off of knockout losses, but both men are ranked in the top 15 at flyweight, so this should be an interesting matchup.
- In the co-main event, we have a terrific bantamweight bout between David Martinez and Marlon Vera. Martinez is one of the top prospects in any weight class, as he is 2-0 so far in the UFC with impressive wins over Rob Font and Saimon Oliveira. He is a medical doctor and also a fighter, making him one of the most interesting stories in all of MMA right now. As for Vera, he has been in the UFC since 2014, and he has been one of the best bantamweights over the past 12 years. However, he appears to be in a decline, having lost his last three fights in a row. While Vera is still a very dangerous fighter, it’s hard not to lean toward the red-hot Martinez to win this fight.
