Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Dana White’s Contender Series 85:
- Headlining this week’s DWCS is a lightweight bout between Magomed Zaynukov and Lucas Caldas. Zaynukov is unbeaten with a 7-0 record heading into this fight. He has been competing for the UAE Warriors, so he has been fighting a high level of competition heading into this fight. He has also previously competed for Eagle FC. His opponent, Caldas, comes to DWCS from Shooto Brasil. He has won all of his pro MMA fights, except for one, with all of his victories coming by way of knockout. He has looked fantastic, and he should put up a great fight here. Still, it’s hard to go against Zaynukov. He should be the more well-rounded fighter and get his hand raised in this bout, although the betting odds are certainly high for this fight.
- Also on the card is a bantamweight bout between Mark Vologdin and Adrian Luna Martinetti. Vologdin is coming off seven straight wins as he makes his North American debut here on DWCS. As for Martinetti, he has won 14 straight fights since his lone career defeat in 2017. Despite that long win streak, Martinetti opened up as the betting underdog. Money has been pouring in on him, and the odds are nearly even now. This looks like a good spot to take the underdog for this DWCS fight.
