Dana White’s Contender Series 65 takes place on Tuesday, October 3 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The offshore sportsbooks recently opened up the betting odds for the event, and MMAOB staff writer Adam Martin looks at the opening odds below.

Victor Hugo Silva -110

Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Dana White’s Contender Series 65:

  • Headling the Contender Series this week is a light heavyweight bout between Murtaza Talha and Rodolfo Bellato. Talha is unbeaten with a 6-0 record and the Bahrain native has won all of his previous bouts in the BRAVE CF and Oktagon promotions over in Europe. As for Bellator, he fought on DWCS last season and suffered a knockout loss to Vitor Petrino, who is doing great things in the UFC currently. Since that loss, Bellato has won his last two fights in a row. Talha is unbeaten so it’s no surprise to see him as a massive betting favorite here, but don’t be surprised if Bellato is able to land a big punch and upset the apple cart. Talha deserves to be favored here, but the odds are a bit longer than expected due to the variant nature of 205 lbs.
  • Also on the card is a bantamweight bout between Eduardo Matias Torres and Victor Hugo Silva. Torres has won his last five fights in a row and he also has a ton of experience fighting for Combate. As for Silva, he has won his last 12 bouts in a row heading into this contest. The odds for this fight are set a Pick ’em, which shows you the oddsmakers aren’t sure who will get the win in what should be a close fight.
