Here are my quick thoughts on PFL Challenger Series 2023: Week 2:
- The main event of this event is a women’s featherweight bout between Naranjargal Tsendayush and Amanda Leve. Tsendayush made her MMA debut last year and she is already 2-0 in MMA with both of her wins coming by way of stoppage. In fact, her last fight came under the LFA banner, which is one of the top regional MMA promotions out there. As for Leve, she made her MMA debut in 2021 for PFL and she won her only fight in mixed martial arts. On top of that one MMA fight, she has a number of grappling bouts on her record, including a notable victory in grappling over Gabi Garcia. It will be interesting to see how this fight plays out, as the oddsmakers essentially opened up the bout as a near Pick ’em in the betting odds.
- Also on the card is another women’s featherweight bout between Jeslen Mishelle and Evelyn Martins. Mishelle made her pro MMA debut last year and she fought twice in PFL, winning both of her fights in the promotion. As for Martins, she is also 2-0 in MMA, with both of her wins coming in Titan FC. However, she has not stepped into the cage since 2021. Overall, this looks like an interesting fight between two prospects with unbeaten records. Mishelle opened up as the betting favorite, but Martins definitely has a chance to pull off the upset here.
