Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC 283 Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC 283 sees the vacant light heavyweight belt on the line between Jamahal Hill and Glover Teixeira. Hill is coming off three straight wins over Thiago Santos, Johnny Walker, and Jimmy Crute and he has been looking great since his surprising TKO loss to Paul Craig two years ago. As for Teixeira, he is coming off of a shocking submission defeat to Jiri Prochazka last year in one of the best fights of 2022. At age 43, Teixeira is one of the oldest fighters in the UFC, but he’s still outstanding. That being said, Hill is in the prime of his career right now, so it’s really no surprise to see him open as the betting favorite here.
- As for the co-main event, it’s the fourth fight between flyweight champ Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno. The pair are 1-1-1 through their first three meetings, so this fourth fight will prove once and for all who the better fighter is. The betting odds are very close for this fourth fight, which shows how difficult of a matchup it is to predict given how closely matched these two were in their first three meetings.
