Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC 273 Opening Odds:

  • The main event of UFC 273 sees UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski put his title on the line against The Korean Zombie. Volkanovski hasn’t lost since joining the UFC in 2016, as he’s gone a perfect 10-0 during that time, with wins over the likes of Max Holloway, Brian Ortega, and Jose Aldo. Volkanovski has no weaknesses that stand out and he does everything well, which makes him one of the most well-rounded fighters in the game today regardless of weight class. That being said, you can never count The Korean Zombie out of a fight. He’s coming off of a great win over Dan Ige and will be hungry to finally hold UFC gold. Volkanovski is the clear favorite here, but you should not completely discount the Zombie.
  • The co-main event is a rematch for the UFC bantamweight title between champion Aljamain Sterling and interim champ Petr Yan. Sterling won their first meeting last year via DQ in a fight where he was going to lose, and since then he has sat out a year after getting neck surgery. Yan, meanwhile, has stayed busy, beating Cory Sandhagen for the interim title. Based on how the first fight was going until the DQ, Yan has opened up a big betting favorite for the rematch.
