Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC 267 Opening Odds:

  • The main event of UFC 267 sees UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz take on No. 1 contender Glover Teixeira. Blachowicz is coming off of a decision win over middleweight champ Israel Adesanya back in March in a fight that helped gain him more respect as a champion. While Blachowicz was a big underdog against Adesanya in that fight, he now enters this title fight against Teixeira as a big favorite. Teixeira has won his last five straight fights and he has looked tremendous as of late, but he is 42 years old now and at some point, he will slow down. Blachowicz is a big favorite here but it is well deserved due to his recent wins.
  • The co-main event is an interim bantamweight title between top contenders Petr Yan and Cory Sandhagen. Yan lost his belt to Aljamain Sterling by DQ back at UFC 259 and he was supposed to fight the champ in a rematch before Sterling pulled out due to injury. Before the loss to Sterling, Yan was beating everyone in his path. As for Sandhagen, despite coming off of a split decision loss to TJ Dillashaw in his last fight, he was given a vacant title fight against Yan. The oddsmakers don’t like his chances, though, with Yan opening as a big favorite.
