Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for Cage Warriors 128:

  • The main event of Cage Warriors 128 sees Paul Hughes take on Morgan Charriere for the interim CWFC featherweight title. Hughes has spent the majority of his career in Bellator and he has won four of his last five fights in the promotion. As for Charriere, he is a longtime veteran of CWFC who lost his last fight. Despite Charriere having more experience, I actually think Hughes has a very good chance of winning this fight. Although Charriere is an exciting fighter to watch, he has suffered quite a few losses in CWFC. Not surprisingly, the betting line quickly flipped and now Hughes is the favorite. It’s a close fight but given that Charriere has suffered so many losses, it makes more sense that Hughes is slightly favored to win this fight.
  • The co-main event sees Gerardo Fanny take on Liam Gittins. Fanny is coming off of a flying knee KO in his last fight, while Gittins is coming off of a submission win in his last outing. This appears to be a pretty competitive fight, but the oddsmakers opened up Fanny as the favorite. The odds, however, have flipped since then and now Gittins is a small favorite to get his hand raised in what should be a competitive fight.
