Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 113:

  • The main event of LFA 113 features a vacant heavyweight title bout between undefeated prospect Thomas Petersen and veteran Vernon Lewis. Petersen turned pro in 2019 and he has since then won all four of his pro MMA fights by first-round stoppage. Before turning pro, Petersen also had a successful amateur MMA career where he went 5-0 with four finishes. This appears to be an excellent heavyweight prospect and he could be UFC-bound in the future with another impressive win or two in LFA. As for Lewis, he is 37 years old and has been fighting as a pro since 2010, competing for promotions including LFA and Bellator during that stretch, and picking up six of his eight career victories by knockout. He also holds a notable decision win over current UFC heavyweight Jared Vanderaa on his resume. Overall, I think Lewis will prove to be a good test for Petersen, but I have to favor the undefeated fighter.
  • In the co-main event, Greg Fischer takes on Ricky Camp in a bantamweight bout. Fischer is an LFA vet who is coming off of a submission loss to former UFC flyweight Jimmy Flick in his last fight. A veteran of Shogun Fights, Fischer has won five of his 10 career victories by submission. As for Camp, he is riding a six-fight win streak into his first LFA fight. The Guam native has fought opponents such as Trevin Jones in the past for the PXC promotion, losing a split decision to him. I think this fight will be close but it appears Camp has more momentum heading into the fight with his win streak, though it’s worth noting he hasn’t fought since 2019.
