Rocha avoided the attacks of Jones in regulation but the back attack game of Jones proved too much and he only needed one attempt to get the submission. Gabriel Checco also sports an undefeated record under the Submission Underground promotion. He scored his own Rear Naked Choke over Austin Vanderford in overtime last time out. Checco stayed composed during the regulation, showed good escapes in overtime, and topped off the performance with a submission.”

Amanda Loewen vs Jessica Eye

“Returning to the Submission Underground cage is veteran and BJJ Black Belt Amanda Loewen. Loewen has appeared in multiple SUG events in the past scoring a wide range of submissions including an armbar win over Sarah Kauffman at SUG 5. In this matchup, she takes on former UFC title challenger Jessica Eye who was just in action headlining UFC Apex 2. Eye will be returning to the SUG cage after previously competing vs Miesha Tate at SUG 2 in Dec 2016. Eye has never been known for her submission game but said she has been heavily training her ground game.”

 

The event also featured an eight-man tournament, but match-ups are finalized. The winner gets $10,000 and a match against Craig Jones.
