UFC Vegas 16 Closing Odds and Fight Results

UFC Vegas 16 took place Saturday, December 5, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card was headlined by a middleweight bout between Marvin Vettori and Jack Hermansson.

In the main event of the evening, top contenders Jack Hermansson and Marvin Vettori went the distance in the Fight of the Night-winning slugfest. Vettori was able to stifle Hermansson’s takedowns, then outslugged him to earn a unanimous decision victory. Vettori was -135 while Hermansson was +115

In the co-main event of the evening, Jamahal Hill landed big right hands in open space, then swarmed a hurt Ovince St. Preux to force the referee to put a stop to the fight in the second roud. Hill was a -190 betting favorite while St. Preux was +165

Gabriel Benitez styled on Justin Jaynes, outlanding him on the feet, then putting him away with a brutal knee to the liver in the final minute of the first round. Benitez was -210 while Jaynes was +180

Roman Dolidze picked apart John Allan over the course of three rounds, outworking the Brazilian to take a clear cut unanimous decision victory. Dolidze was -185 while Allan was +160

Jordan Leavitt absolutely destroyed veteran Matt Wiman, lifting him up and then slamming him into unconsciousness in just 22 seconds. Leavitt was a heavy -420 favorite while Wiman was +340

Jose Quinonez outstruck Louis Smolka early, but the second Quinonez started to slow down in the second round, Smolka secured top position and pounded away until the ref intervened. Smolka was -120, while Quinonez was +100

Ilia Topuria made himself look like a budding superstar with his first round destruction of Damon Jackson, landing a heavy right hand along the fence to knock Jackson out cold. Topuria was -240 while Jackson was +205

 

Underdogs that Won

In the opening bout of the evening, Jake Collier showcased improved stand-up and his conditioning held up as he outstruck Gian Villante to win a unanimous decision. Collier was +160 while Villante was -185.
