While the odds may not exactly reflect it on paper, this is a fantastic fight between two great fighters on Saturday night in Brooklyn.
Zayas is the younger of the two, but you can see him growing and getting better with each performance. The biggest difference-maker in the fight, in my opinion, is the athleticism and speed that the challenger, Ennis, carries with him. He is already regarded as one of the most talented boxers in not only his weight class but also in the entire sport. While I wish he protected himself better, he can slip and roll punches very comfortably. Furthermore, I think the speed of his combinations will eventually start to catch up with Zayas, who, in his own right, has become very technically sound.
I ultimately have Ennis taking a decision win by relying on his countering and angles, avoiding unnecessary risks due to the power Zayas carries. I could see Zayas having his moments or making it tough on Ennis in the early rounds, but Ennis will start to take over and shut down any offense Zayas has.
