Despite the quick turnaround for Oliveira (and it is something to take into consideration due to the brutal KO from Topuria), I believe this is a great matchup for Oliveira. He is dangerous in all areas of the fight, and Gamrot’s best path to victory in his fights is to wrestle and grapple his opponents, which plays right into Oliveira’s game.
Gamrot is not the better striker, overall grappler, or definitely not the more proven fighter. My concern is that Oliveira’s quick turnaround plays right into Gamrot’s hand. Oliveira is 35 now, and while I still believe he is in great form and fighting to his best, there is room for decline to begin to happen. If Oliveira puts pressure and Gamrot on the back foot, it makes his attempts at takedowns and grappling much tougher to succeed at. Leading to opportunistic chokes and guillotines for Oliveira, which he is very dangerous at.
My prediction is Oliveira by submission, but I am taking the moneyline here.
Thanks for reading, and best of luck!
Bet: Charles Oliveira (-110)
