Mixed Martial Arts Veteran Recap: July 2016

In this article I recap how these veteran fighters fared in their respective bouts for the month of July.   July 2nd –  Road FC 32 (Hunan, China) Aorigele def. Bob Sapp via TKO (Punches) at 0:35, RD. 1  Aorigele snaps his two-fight losing streak while Sapp has now lost 13-fights in a row.   July 2nd – ONE Championship: Dynasty of Champions (Anhui, China) Ariel Sexton def. Roger Huerta via Submission (Strikes) at 3:53, RD. 3 Sexton has now gone 5-1 in his last six fights with all of those victories coming by way of finish. Huerta has now lost back-to-back fights.   July 8th – Island Fights 38 (Pensacola, Florida) Keon Caldwell (10-3) vs. Elvin Leon Brito (9-2)  Card moved to August 13th.   July 9th – CFFC 59 (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) Tim Williams def. Nah-Shon Burrell via Unanimous Decision  Williams wins his third straight fight while Burrell snaps his three-fight winning streak.   July 15th – Absolute Championship Berkut 41: The Path to Triumph (Sochi, Russia) Denis Goltsov def. Paul Buentello via TKO (Kick) at 3:08, RD. 1  Goltsov has now won 13- straight fights and hasn’t lost a matchup since 2012. Buentello had his two-fight winning streak snapped. Michał Andryszak def. Tim Hague via TKO (Head Kick) at 0:33, RD. 1  Andryszak has now won three-fights in a row while UFC veteran Hague has now lost four of his last five fights. Soso Nizharadze def. Mike Wilkinson via Unanimous Decision  Nizharadze improves to 3-2 in his career while Wilkinson has lost two straight fights.   July 15th – RFA 40 (Prior Lake, Minnesota) Chico Camus def. Czar Sklavos via Unanimous Decision  UFC veteran Camus earns back-to-back wins for the first time since 2012, Sklavos has his two-fight win streak snapped.   July 22nd – Legacy FC 58 (Lake Charles, Louisiana) Robert Drysdale def. Ryan Spann via Submission (Choke) at 2:58, RD. 2 Drysdale earns his seventh straight win and keeps his unblemished record in tact. Spann has now lost two of his last three fights.   July 23rd – KOTC: Destructive Intent (Washington, Pennsylvania) Charles Bennett (29-30-2) vs. Francis Healy (6-3)  Bout cancelled per Tapology.   July 24th- Pancrase 279 (Tokyo, Japan) Yushin Okami def.Shingo Suzuki via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) at 2:06, RD. 1 Okami earns his first two-fight win streak since 2013 meanwhile Suzuki has now lost back-to-back fights after going on a  three-fight win streak. Shintaro Ishiwatari def. Jonathan Brookins via Unanimous Decision  Ishiwatari has now won three in a row, while Brookins has now gone 2-4 in his last six fights. Akihiro Takanabe def. Yuki Kondo via Unanimous Decision Takanabe earns his second career victory while Kondo has now lost three of his last four fights. Rin Nakai def.  Raika Emiko via TKO (Elbows) at 2:43, RD. 3 Nakai snaps her two-fight losing streak, while Emiko drops to 2-4 in her professional career.   Is there a notable MMA veteran competing this month that I missed?
