Michael Bisping replaces Chris Weidman against Luke Rockhold at UFC 199 UFC President Dana White today announced Wednesday on ESPN Sportscenter that Michael Bisping has stepped in on short notice to face UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold at UFC 199. This comes after the news yesterday that Chris Weidman was forced to withdraw from the main event due to injury. Bisping (28-7) heads into this rematch on a three-fight winning streak including victories over C.B. Dolloway, Thales Leites and Anderson Silva. Prior to that, the TUF 3 winner lost via submission to Rockhold at UFC Fight Night 55 back in 2014. Rockhold (12-2) has won five-straight fights since his loss to Vitor Belfort at UFC on FX 8 in 2013. It should also be noted (per MMAJunkie) that the title shot would have gone to Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza (23-4) had the Brazilian not been injured after his UFC 198 victory over Vitor Belfort.
