WSOF 24’s Nick Newell: ‘I’m there to destroy Tom Marcellino and nothing else matters’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with World Series of Fighting 24 lightweight Nick Newell about his upcoming main card fight this Saturday night (October 17, 2015) against Tom Marcellino at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut.

The inspirational fighter is looking to continue his resurgence after losing his title fight to Justin Gaethje by picking up his second straight win, and he seems plenty prepared for what Marcellino has to offer:

“Hopefully [Tom Marcellino] comes to fight. His style, he’s a wrestler and I think that feeds very well into my style because I’m a wrestler too and I’m very good in scrambles and very good in close quarter fights. He may have a little confidence in his boxing. He won two boxing matches recently but that means little to me. The generic answer is that I’m better wherever the fight goes but you don’t know until it goes. All I know is I’m coming to whoop his ass. I feel good. I feel great. I’m not too concerned about him. He should be more worried about what I’m going to do than I should be worried about what he’s gonna do. He’s from New York so maybe he’ll sell some tickets, but for me, I just soak in the hometown thing and I just go out there and I’m there to destroy him and nothing else matters.
