Fights to Avoid Betting for Bellator 142: Dynamite!

Josh ThomsonBellator 142: Dynamite! Date: September 19, 2015 Arena: SAP Center City: San Jose, CA Bellator FC heads to San Jose, CA this Saturday night (September 19, 2015) for Bellator 142: Dynamite! The stacked 15-fight card will kick off with a preliminary card on the promotion’s website at 6:30pm ET, with main card action getting going at 9pm ET on Spike TV. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. My Fights to AVOID betting for Bellator 142: Dynamite! are: Lightweight bout: Josh Thomson (-950) vs Mike Bronzoulis (+517) Gabe’s Thoughts: I like “The Punk” in this match-up and think he will have a walk in the park against Bronzoulis, however I don’t quite agree with his current asking price of -950. I think he should be a -600 favorite here, so at -950, I can’t get myself to touch it, nor can I think about taking a shot at the underdog Bronzoulis at +517. This should be an easy win for Thomson in his Bellator debut, but as far as a wager is concerned, this ultimately has to be one to avoid at the sportsbooks this Saturday night. Gabe’s Call: Thomson by T/KO (strikes, 3:34 round 2) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID Light Heavyweight bout: Linton Vassell (+270) vs Muhammed Lawal (-390) Gabe’s Thoughts: In short, I expect “King Mo” to use his superior wrestling to grind out a unanimous decision win against Vassell in this 205-pound contest. I think Mo should be a -300 betting favorite headed into this contest, so at his current offering price of -390, it has to be a pass for me come Saturday night. Gabe’s Call: “King Mo” by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID Welterweight bout: Carlos Eduardo Rocha (-130) vs James Terry (-110) Gabe’s Thoughts: I am in full agreement with the current betting odds for this contest, as I see it being a coin-flip situation with a slight lean to the Brazilian Rocha. I think this is going to be a closely contested bout that likely plays out for all 15 minutes en route to a judges’ decision, where it could be anybody’s fight, but I slightly favor Rocha’s chances of picking up the nod. Gabe’s Call: Rocha by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID
