MMA Betting Odds and Ends for Thursday: Means vs. Masvidal, Pickett vs. Easton Among New Matchups

Jorge-Masvidal The UFC went on a matchup-announcing frenzy overnight, confirming six brand-new matchups spread out over two upcoming fight cards. Below are the new fights: UFC on FOX 7:

  • Tim Means vs. Jorge Masvidal (155 lbs)
  • Anthony Njokuani vs. Roger Bowling (155 lbs)
  • Myles Jury vs. Ramsey Nijem (155 lbs)
  • Jon Tuck vs. Norman Parke (155 lbs)

UFC on FUEL TV 9:

  • Brad Pickett vs. Mike Easton (135 lbs)
  • Marcus Brimage vs. Conor McGregor (145 lbs)

All six of these fights are excellent matchups, but I want to highlight a few in particular. The first is Tim Means vs. Jorge Masvidal, who is coming over from Strikeforce. These are two of the very best strikers in the lightweight division and this fight should be nothing but 15 minutes of non-stop entertainment. Another interesting fight is Brad Pickett vs. Mike Easton. Both fighters are top bantamweights who are coming off of losses, so look for each man to try and bounce back by taking their opponent’s head off. And perhaps the most intriguing of all of these fights is Marcus Brimage vs. Conor McGregor. Brimage has been nothing but a stud in the Octagon, going 3-0 so far with big upset wins over Maximo Blanco and Jimy Hettes, while McGregor is a Cage Warriors champion and is one of the most highly-regarded prospects in Europe who will be looking to make a splash in his UFC debut.
