Retired UFC Welterweight Chris Lytle: ‘I didn’t replace Chael Sonnen on Fox Sports 1’

MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with retired UFC welterweight Chris Lytle in advance of his UFC on Fox Sports 1 gig for UFC Fight Night 45 tonight (July 16, 2014) at Revel Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The former “Fight of the Night” bonus hog discussed the next stage of his career, which included some commentary during last night’s UFN 45 weigh-ins, and he wanted to dispel a few rumors he’d heard floating around:

“It’s really weird. I’ve had this planned for about a month. I just keep seeing, all of a sudden I keep looking on different websites right now and they’re saying ‘Chael Sonnen’s fired, Chris Lytle’s replacing him.’ I’m like, ‘Whoa hold on a second. That’s not what happened at all.’ I’ve had this planned a long time. (laughs) It’s funny how people jump to conclusions about him being fired and I’m in right away. I’m gonna do this one time and see how it goes.”
