Bellator 114’s Brett Cooper: ‘Mixing up my game is key against Kendall Grove’

MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 114 middleweight Brett Cooper as he prepares for his tournament bout tonight (March 28, 2014) against Kendall Grove at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah.

The recent middleweight title challenger understands the importance of keeping your opponent guessing and he feels that will be vital to his chances of pulling off the victory later tonight:

‘I’m not Demian Maia or Jacare on the ground. You have to pick out a couple things about yourself that you can beat anybody at. For me, it’s mixing up my strikes with my takedowns and playing that MMA game between the two arts. I have power in my hands and I think I have all-around good striking, but I think playing that game between the two, you can really mess with people. If you play both games properly, you can really open up holes that you wouldn’t be able to if you were only shooting or only going for strikes. So that’s kind of my niche I think.”
