UFC 168 Closing Odds & Results

Travis Browne UFC 168 took place tonight in Las Vegas, NV, and the event proved to be a perfect end to one of the craziest years in MMA, as it featured a number of high-profile finishes before a main event that ended with one of the most gruesome finishes in MMA history. Overall, six favorites cashed, while five dogs came through. Here’s a betting recap of UFC 168based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers: UFC 168 Betting Underdogs That Won In the main event of the evening, Chris Weidman defeated Anderson Silva via first-round TKO (leg injury) after Silva broke his leg throwing a kick that was checked by Weidman. Silva was carried out on a stretcher afterwards and it’s likely that’s the last we will ever see of him inside the Octagon. If so, it was a sad way for Silva to end his career. But either way, Weidman proved his worth as a heavyweight stud and cashed as a +175 dog (bet $100 to win $175), while Silva lost as a -190 favorite (bet $190 to win $100). In a heavyweight bout, Travis Browne upset Josh Barnett with a first-round KO via elbows. Browne just stamped his way into the heavyweight title talk as a +125 dog, while Barnett lost as a -135 favorite. In a lightweight bout, Michael Johnson knocked out Gleison Tibau in the second round with punches. Johnson keeps moving up the lightweight ladder as he won as a +135 dog, while Tibau lost as a -145 fav. In a welterweight bout, John Howard beat Siyar Bahadurzada via unanimous decision with his superior wrestling. Howard’s overall game was superior throughout and he won as a +135 dog, while Bahadurzada lost as a -145 fav. In a welterweight matchup, William Macario defeated Bobby Voelker via unanimous decision. Macario showed excellent muay Thai and won as a +115 dog, while Voelker lost as a -125 fav. UFC 168 Betting Favorites That Won In the co-main event of the evening, Ronda Rousey beat down Miesha Tate en route to a third-round stoppage via her signature armbar. Rousey was never in trouble and won as a -680 fav, while Tate lost as a +555 dog. In a lightweight bout, Jim Miller latched on a slick submission to win in the first round against Fabricio Camoes. Miller scored as a -420 favorite with one of the top submissions of the year, while Camoes lost as a +375 dog. In a featherweight bout, Dustin Poirier absolutely demolished Diego Brandao en route to a first-round TKO victory. Poirier absolutely destroyed Brandao, and cashed as a -245 favorite while Brandao lost as a +225 dog. In a middleweight bout, Uriah Hall likely ended Chris Leben’s career with punches that forced a corner stoppage after round one. Hall hurt Leben badly and it’s likely that this is the last time we will ever see “The Crippler” compete. Hall was a -325 favorite, while Leben was a +295 dog. In a featherweight bout, Dennis Siver defeated Manny Gamburyan via unanimous decision. Siver used superior striking and wrestling to win as a -310 favorite, while Gamburyan lost as a +280 dog. In a featherweight matchup, Robbie Peralta knocked out Estevan Payan in the third round with punches. Peralta looked asleep in the first two rounds, but his corner told him to smarten up and he won in round three with a brilliant finish as a -165 fav, while Payan lost as a +155 dog.
