Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Bellator 282:

  • The main event of Bellator 282 features middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi defending his title against the undefeated Johnny Eblen. Mousasi has looked phenomenal in Bellator, having won his last four fights in a row and having an overall record of 7-1 in the promotion. He has finished his last two fights in a row and appears to be a man on a mission these days. As for Eblen, he is a perfect 11-0 in his MMA career and he has beaten everyone in his path so far. Having said that, there is no doubt that Mousasi is a significant step up in competition, and it should come as absolutely no surprise to anyone that Mousasi is the clear favorite here.
  • As for the other two big fights on the card, there are two Bellator bantamweight tournament fights featuring Magomed Magomedov vs. Enrique Barzola and Danny Sabatello vs. Leandro Higo. These should be two very interesting fights at 135lbs, with both winners moving on to the next round of the bantamweight Grand Prix. With Sabatello being such a dominant wrestler, he opened as a big favorite, while Magomedov opened as a slight favorite in his matchup.
