Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For LFA 95:

  • The main event sees the vacant LFA lightweight title on the line between Arthur Estrazulas (12-4) and Nick Browne (10-1). The 31-year-old Estrazulas is a native of Brazil who is a 10-year veteran with experience fighting for Bellator, KOTC, ACB, PFL, and most recently LFA, where he has won his last two fights by submission. As for Browne, the 30-year-old American is WSOF, KOTC, and LFA vet who has also won his last two fights. Both of these guys have dangerous ground games and this could be a fun chess match if it hits the mat. Estrazulas opened as a bigger favorite than I thought he would. Not surprisingly, the line has been brought down to near a Pick ’em. I think it’s a close fight but I’d take Browne at dog money.
  • The co-main event features light heavyweight prospects Myron Dennis (17-7) and Dylan Potter (9-4). The 31-year-old Dennis is an American who has been a professional MMA fighter since 2010. In fact, he even fought on TUF 23, in addition to stops in Bellator, GLORY Kickboxing, and of course LFA. Dennis is currently riding a two-fight win streak in MMA. As for Potter, the 25-year-old American made his professional debut in 2015 and has fought for promotions such as KOTC, where he has a notable loss to former UFC fighter Ronny Markes. Once again I think the opening odds were too high on Dennis which is why the line has been brought down a bit. I definitely think this is a fight that could go either way and believe Potter is a live dog.
  • One of the fights that I am most excited about is Alex Pereira (2-1) making his LFA debut against Thomas Powell (4-4). The 33-year-old Pereira is a GLORY kickboxer who is the only man to ever knock out Israel Adesanya in combat sports. He only has three MMA fights but he believes he can make a run in mixed martial arts. As far as striking goes, it doesn’t get any better than the Brazilian, who has devastating KO power in all of his limbs. We know that LFA is essentially a feeder league to the UFC, so it’s exciting to see Pereira under contract with the promotion. A win here and the UFC made very well interested to bring him into the big show. In this fight, Pereira takes on Powell. The 25-year-old Powell has been a pro since 2016 and has fought primarily for KOTC and Ring of Combat. Just two fights ago he lost to former UFC fighter George Sullivan, who is on the downside of his career. This is a set-up fight for Pereira and I believe he wins this fight in a devasting fashion, just like the betting line indicates.
