MMAOddsBreaker Rankings Update – UFC Women’s Bantamweight Division

Moving forward, I’ll be sharing an updated list of rankings in some of the most affected weight classes following UFC events. I’ll be basing my rankings according to the UFC rules and sharing one the rankings I submit for the UFC following each event. The UFC ranks 16 fighters in each weight class, one champion at the top, then the next 15, unless the division has no champion.

Following UFC Fight Nigh 172, here are my updated UFC women’s bantamweight rankings.

     Women’s Bantamweight division

  1. Amanda Nunes
  2. Germaine de Randamie
  3. Holly Holm
  4. Aspen Ladd
  5. Irene Aldana
  6. Ketlen Vieira
  7. Raquel Pennington
  8. Yana Kunitskaya
  9. Sara McMann
  10. Julia Avila NR
  11. Julianna Pena (-1)
  12. Marion Reneau (-1)
  13. Macy Chiasson (-1)
  14. Bethe Correia (-1)
  15. Lina Lansberg (-1)
  16. Nicco Montano (-1)
This was probably an oversight. I should have had Julia Avila ranked already after she impressively defeated Pannie Kianzad last July. That oversight has been corrected after seeing her in action last night, when she obliterated Gina Mazany in the first minute. Avila has solid striking technique, combined with aggression, high volume and some power, which could make her a fast riser in a division that is currently lacking fresh faces or contenders.
