LFA 20 Opening Betting Odds

LFA 20 takes place at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota this Friday (August 25th, 2017) at 9 p.m. (ET) on AXS TV. In the main event, welterweight standout Chad Curry faces former RFA title challenger Nick Barnes.

Curry (9-1) heads into this matchup off back-to-back knockout victories, including a second-round stoppage win over Kyle Kurtz in his last fight at LFA 12 in May. The 27-year-old, who is ranked fifth on the FloCombat Prospect Rankings, has never gone the distance in his 10-fight career, and his lone loss is to UFC lightweight standout Lando Vannata in 2015. Barnes (11-2) hasn’t competed since his first-round knockout loss to Brian Camozzi at RFA 43 close to a year ago, which was for the promotion’s vacant welterweight title. “The Phoenix” looks to avoid back-to-back losses for the first time in his career, and he is ranked eighth on the FloCombat Prospect Rankings.

In the co-feature, Roufusport standout Nate Jennerman takes on MMA Lab product Bobby Moffett. Jennerman (9-2) made a successful LFA debut earlier this year, submitting Damon Hill in the first round at LFA 12. The 24-year-old heads into this matchup on a four-fight win streak, including back-to-back submission victories. Moffett (9-2) hasn’t competed since RFA 46 in December, when he took home a split-decision nod over TJ Brown. “The Wolfman” has won five of his last six fights, with his only loss during that stretch coming to former Legacy FC featherweight champion Raoni Barcelos.

Also on the main card is the return of Women’s MMA pioneer Kelly Kobold, who faces Christine Stanley in a flyweight matchup. Kobold (18-3-1) is perhaps best known for her fight with Gina Carano at Elite XC: Heat, and she enters the cage after a seven-year hiatus. The 34-year-old is going for two straight wins for the first time since 2007. Stanley (5-3) heads into this matchup on a two-fight skid and will be competing for the first time since October. Prior to those setbacks, the 36-year-old was riding a four-fight win streak, with three of those wins coming by knockout.
