UFC on FOX 25: Weidman vs. Gastelum

Date: July 22, 2017
Arena: Nassau Coliseum
City: Uniondale, Long Island, New York

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be on Long Island, NY for the first time in promotional history this Saturday (July 22, 2017) with UFC on FOX 25: Weidman vs. Gastelum. The stacked 13-fight card is set to kick off with preliminary action on UFC Fight Pass at 4 p.m. (ET). Prelims will continue on FOX at 6 p.m., with the main card getting underway at 8 p.m. If interested in wagering on any bouts for these fight cards, all betting lines are available at Several Bookmakers.

Here are my top props for UFC on FOX 25…

Kelvin Gastelum (-155) vs. Chris Weidman (+145)

Weidman by Decision (+455)

Contrary to popular opinion, I think Weidman winning a decision is the most likely outcome to this middleweight contest scheduled for five rounds of main event action. At +455, I do like it for a play. I see Weidman’s advantages in size and wrestling being the difference over the course of the 25 minutes of action.

Jimmie Rivera (-175) vs. Thomas Almeida (+165)

Rivera in Round One (+500)

I think there’s a good chance that Rivera catches Almeida clean in the opening frame and shuts his lights off. If Almeida does what he normally does, he will be playing with fire with Rivera, similar to how he was with Cody Garbrandt.

Ryan LaFlare (-170) vs. Alex Oliveira (+160)

LaFlare by Decision (-110)

LaFlare -3.5 (+175)

Simply put, I think LaFlare by Decision is the most likely outcome to this welterweight bout, and I favor the Long Islander to pick up a victory here in front of his home crowd.

Chase Sherman (-240) vs. Damian Grabowski (+220)

Sherman Inside the Distance (-145)

I like Sherman to score his second consecutive finish over Grabowski in this heavyweight contest scheduled for three rounds.

Jeremy Kennedy (-240) vs. Kyle Bochniak (+220)

Kennedy by Decision (-130)

Kennedy -3.5 (+135)

I think Kennedy by Decision is the most likely outcome to this 145-pound contest, and I see the Canadian getting the better of Bochniak for all three rounds en route to earning the unanimous nod.

Shane Burgos (-450) vs. Godofredo Pepey (+400)

Burgos Inside the Distance (-185)

Burgos in Round One (+125)

Burgos -3.5 (-270)

I expect a one-sided fight here in favor of Burgos, who I see continuing to work his way into the division’s rankings with an impressive victory over the Brazilian.
