UFC 160 has come and gone and it was one of the more exciting cards of the year as the main card delivered four awesome finishes and the prelims were also exciting. UFC 160 Betting Favorites That Won In the main event of the evening, Cain Velasquez defeated Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva via first-round TKO to defend the UFC heavyweight championship. It really wasn’t much of a fight at all as the champ absolutely demolished the challenger with brutal ground and pound to win in the first round. Velasquez closed as a -705 favorite (bet $705 to win $100) while Silva closed as a +570 underdog (bet $100 to win $570). In the co-main event, Junior dos Santos defeated Mark Hunt via spinning wheel kick KO in the third round to earn a rematch with Velasquez. This was one of the best fights of the night and dos Santos proves without a doubt that he’s still one of the best in the world at 265 pounds. Dos Santos closed at -475, while Hunt closed at +400. In a light heavyweight fight, Glover Teixeira defeated James Te Huna via first-round submission to improve to 4-0 in the UFC. It was another brilliant victory by Teixeira, who proved once again that he’s one of the best in the world at 205 pounds. Teixeira closed at -400, while Te Huna closed at +355. In a lightweight fight, Donald Cerrone defeated KJ Noons via unanimous decision. It was a beatdown from bell to bell for Cerrone, who gets back into the win column after a body kick KO loss to Anthony Pettis. Cerrone closed at -270, while Noons was +248. In a featherweight bout, Dennis Bermudez defeated Max Holloway via controversial split decision. Most believed that Holloway deserved to win the fight but the judges struck again and he was robbed. Bermudez closed at -280, while Holloway closed at +255. In a lightweight bout, Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Abel Trujilo via dominant decision to improve to 4-0 in the UFC. Nurmagomedov set the UFC record for most takedowns (20) in a three-round UFC fight and he looks like a contender going forward. He closed at -310, while Trujillo closed at +280. In a welterweight bout, Stephen Thompson defeated Nah-Shon Burrell via unanimous decision. It was one of the worst fights of the night as Thompson just kept pushing Burrell against the cage, but he did get the win and save his job with the UFC. As for Burrell, don’t be surprised if he gets cut. Thompson closed at -185, while Burrell closed at +170. In a featherweight bout, Jeremy Stephens defeated Estevan Payan via unanimous decision in the opening fight of the night. It was a brutal win for Stephens, as he bloodied up Payan in the opening round and didn’t let him until the final bell rang. Stephens closed at -170, while Payan closed at +160. UFC 160 Betting Underdogs That Won In a lightweight bout, TJ Grant laid waste to Gray Maynard with a first-round KO victory for a big upset win. Grant absolutely floored Maynard with a huge punch and followed it up with some more brutal strikes on the ground until the referee intervened. Grant closed as a +125 underdog, while Maynard closed at -135. In a welterweight bout, Mike Pyle defeated Rick Story via split decision. It was a close fight but most believed Story deserved the win with his work off the top and in the standup. Regardless, Pyle won and moves to 4-0 in his last four fights. Pyle closed at +150, while Story closed at -160. In a welterweight bout, Robert Whittaker defeated Colton Smith via KO to improve to 2-0 in the UFC. While Whittaker won TUF Smashes, no one really saw him do his thing on that show and Smith, who won TUF 16, was much more hyped. But Whittaker is the better prospect and proved that tonight. Whittaker closed at +130, while Smith closed at -140. In a bantamweight bout, George Roop finished off Brian Bowles with strikes in the second round to pick up a very nice TKO victory. Bowles looked like he had Roop in trouble in the first, but Roop was able to survive and he used his superior cardio as a weapon to win in round two against a gassed Bowles. Roop closed at +265, while Bowles closed at -295.
