KSW 37 Opening Betting Odds

ksw-37As the scene shifts to Saturday, the focus will be on the UFC and Bellator, but the biggest spectacle of the entire weekend will most certainly be KSW 37. The card is entitled “Circus of Pain” and it will most certainly be a circus. The main event is a heavyweight title bout between Karol Bedorf and Fernando Rodrigues Jr., one of three title fights on the card. Bedorf has now extended his winning streak to eight fights in excess of five years, and has an argument as the best (if not most popular) heavyweight in Poland. The honor of most popular fighter in Poland goes to Mariusz Pudzianowski, who will compete in the people’s main event, if ever there was an accurate usage of that term ever. Pudz will be facing Pawel Rak, who actually has a 2-1 record in his MMA career from back in 2008 (with two of the fights taking place in Cage Rage), but is far more well known as “Popek” a Polish rapper who doesn’t just border, but crosses completely over to the absurd. If you’re not faint of heart, google him and watch a couple videos. This fight will be absurd in the opening seconds, and will get exponentially moreso as it progresses, given how liberally Polish officials employ Pudz rules, and the cardio of the former World’s Strongest Man. The other title fights on KSW are in the welterweight and featherweight division. At welterweight, Borys Mankowski looks to make the third defense of his title as he takes on UFC veteran John Maguire. Mankowski has won eight of his past nine bouts, with an injury causing the only loss during that span. An all-Polish affair at featherweight sees champion Artur Sowinski defend against TUF veteran Marcin Wrzosek. MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas opened the betting odds for these four top fights, as well as a pair of additional undercard bouts at Several Bookmakers today.
