The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is currently on a three week hiatus in advance of next weekend’s UFC Fight Night 86 event, but there are still plenty of fights to get excited about in the coming weeks and months. UFC on Fox 19 will take place on April 16th and will feature a likely lightweight number one contender fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson. There are several high profile bouts including a bantamweight scrap between Manny Gamburyan and John Dodson as well as a women’s bantamweight scrap of Raquel Pennington vs Bethe Correia. Next month on May 8th, UFC Fight Night 87 will feature a main event between former heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski and top contender (and former Strikeforce/Dream champ) Alistair Overeem. The odds have already been released for that bout, but a pair of other scraps have their lines debuting with a pair of lightweight bouts featuring Jon Tuck vs Nick Hein and Rustam Khabilov vs Chris Wade. At the end of May, UFC Fight Night 88 will be headlined by a bantamweight fight between top undefeated contenders Cody Garbrandt and Thomas Almeida in Brazil. The co-main event features the featherweight debut of former 135 pound champion Renan Barao against veteran Jeremy Stephens. Also this upcoming June, UFC Fight Night 89 will be co-headlined by a welterweight bout between Patrick Cote and Donald Cerrone in Cerrone’s second bout at 170 pounds. Last but not least, UFC’s premiere event, UFC 200, will go down in July and five more high profile bouts have had lines broken. There will be an interim featherweight title bout between former champions Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar. Former welterweight champ Johny Hendricks throws down opposite Kelvin Gastelum and a trio of lightweight fights have been added including Takanori Gomi vs Jim Miller, Diego Sanchez vs Joe Lauzon and the return of Sage Northcutt.
