MMA Odds and Ends for Thursday: UFC 196 press conference replay and UFC Fight Night 87 adds two fights

Watch the replay of Wednesday’s UFC 196 press conference (Presser starts at 27 min mark)    Watch Episode 2 of UFC Fight Night 84’s Embedded   Barroso vs. Krylov and Cabral vs. Madadi added to UFC Fight Night 87 According to Combate and Globo, the UFC has added Francimar Barroso vs. Nikita Krylov and Yan Cabral vs. Reza Madadi to the promotions debut in the Netherlands May 8th. Francimar Barroso (18-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC) is set to meet Nikita Krylov (19-4 MMA, 4-2 UFC) in a light heavyweight bout in May at UFC Fight Night 87, while Yan Cabral (12-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) will fight Reza Madadi (13-4 MMA, 2-2 UFC) at lightweight. The bouts were first reported by Globo and Combate. Barroso (18-4) heads into the fight off two-straight wins, earning victories over Ryan Jimmo and Elvis Mutapcic. Krylov (19-4) is coming into this fight off three straight wins over  Cody Donovan, Stanislav Nedkov and Marcos Rogerio de Lima. Cabral (12-2) aims to get back on the winning track after a a unanimous decision loss to Johnny Case in November in Brazil. Madadi (13-4) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Norman Parke after a nearly two-year layoff due to jail time. Prior to the loss, he had back to back submission wins including a victory over Michael Johnson. UFC Fight Night 87 takes place May 8 at Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Here’s a look at the card so far. Andrei Arlovski vs. Alistair Overeem Antonio Silva vs. Stefan Struve Francimar Barroso vs. Nikita Krylov Yan Cabral vs. Reza Madadi   Ben Askren defends his title against  Nikolay Aleksakhin at ‘ONE Championship 41: Global Rivals’ ONE Championship announced Wednesday that welterweight champion Ben Askren will finally return to the cage for the first time in over a year. Askren (14-0) hasn’t seen action since his April 2015 fight with Luis Santos where an accidental eye-poke stopped the fight. Aleksakhin (16-3) is coming off a third-round submission victory over Burenzorig Batmunkh and comes into this matchup on a six-fight winning streak. “ONE Championship 41: Global Rivals,” takes place April 15 at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines.
