MMA Odds and Ends for Thursday: Kampmann retires, Holm will fight before Rousey rematch

UFC welterweight Martin Kampmann retires at 33 to focus on family Martin Kampmann announced Wednesday on UFC.com that he is retiring from the sport to focus on his family after a stint coaching at Team Alpha Male. “I’ve known for a while,” Kampmann  told the website. “I just haven’t really made it official. I’m not sure why.” Kampmann (20-7)  hasn’t fought since a 2013 loss Carlos Condit at UFC Fight Night 27. He fought 17-times in the UFC including wins over Carlos Condit, Thiago Alves and Jake Ellenberger. In January 2014, Kampmann took a hiatus from fighting due to damage from multiple concussions. He also had a stint coaching at Team Alpha Male.
